About Philip Street header
dot_clea.gif - 43 Bytes Philip Street is a cartoonist and animator. A native of Blyth, Ontario, he studied English at the University of Toronto and Classical Animation at Sheridan College. From 1990 to 1997 he was art director of Compass: A Jesuit Journal, and subsequently the founding art director of Voices Across Boundaries.

His comic strip Fisher appeared in The Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper, from June 1992 (in colour from October 2010) to September 8, 2012. The strip has a new home on the web at www.FisherComic.com.

Since 1998 he has also been a graphic designer at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Toronto, where he has provided designs and animations for such television programmes as CBC Sesame Park, Sesame Street International, CBC Kids, and The Nature of Things, among many others. Most recently he has directed 76 episodes of “Peter Puck” for Hockey Night in Canada’s pre-game show.
